Weston Sprott Appointed Executive Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center

Sprott will assume the position on September 21, succeeding Greg Scholl.

Congratulations to Weston Sprott (Trombone ’06), who was appointed executive director of Jazz at Lincoln Center today. The alum succeeds Greg Scholl, who served in the role for more than 14 years.

Sprott joins Jazz at Lincoln Center after a seven-year appointment as dean and director of the Preparatory Division at The Juilliard School. An accomplished classical trombonist, he has also served as a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 2005, a position he will vacate upon beginning his new role.

“Weston brings an impressive record of accomplishment as an arts leader, educator, and administrator spanning two decades,” said Jazz at Lincoln Center in a congratulatory social media post.  “His experience and values strongly align with our mission and principles, and he brings strategic leadership, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine passion for fostering community through music to the organization.”
