Karisa Chiu ('22) and Yesong Sophie Lee ('24) Win Top Prizes at International Violin Competition of Indianapolis
Chiu won the gold medal, and Lee placed fifth in the prestigious 12th annual competition.
Congratulations to Karisa Chiu (Violin ’22) and Yesong Sophie Lee (Violin ’24) on their top prizes at the 12th annual International Violin Competition of Indianapolis this past weekend.
Chiu won the competition, receiving the gold medal and a $75,000 cash prize. Lee received the fifth prize of $8,000.
As the first-prize winner, Chiu also receives a Carnegie Hall recital debut, a recording contract, and four years of career management and international concert engagements, as well as website development and maintenance.
