Curtis violin faculty member Midori was one of five artists honored by the The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2021. The award ceremony was broadcast on CBS on June 6. Midori’s influence was represented in tributes from Gustavo Dudamel, John Lithgow, and Bette Midler; and performances by Adele Anthony, Randall Mitsuo Goosby, Yo-Yo Ma, Gil Shaham, members of the National Symphony Orchestra, and Curtis alumna Hilary Hahn (Violin ’99).
