Meet the Alumni: Paul Kowert

Meet Curtis alumnus Paul Kowert in this fall’s edition of Overtones.

“There’s nothing wrong with just playing one kind of music, I don’t think,” says Paul Kowert—and his career proves it, spanning nearly every genre of music, from classical, to jazz, to bluegrass. Now, Paul performs with musicians such as mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile, the Punch Brothers, and his own chamber-folk ensemble, Hawktail, forging a path reminiscent of one of his teachers at Curtis, bassist Edgar Meyer.
