Nozomi Imamura Featured in Inquirer’s Made in Philly Series

Mr. Imamura is a Community Artist Fellow and a 2015 graduate of Curtis.

In the 2018–19 school year, Community Artist Fellow Nozomi Imamura (Trumpet ’15) is continuing his work at South Philadelphia High School with instruction and ensemble building during and after the school day. Curtis’s partnership with South Philadelphia High School, where 100 percent of students are economically disadvantaged, has gradually re-introduced instrumental music and musical theater into the curriculum after years without music education of any kind.

The Philadelphia Inquirer recently followed Mr. Imamura through a day at SPHS and interviewed him about his passion for teaching.

Commencement: Curtis Celebrates the Class of 2024

On Saturday, May 11, Curtis awarded degrees, diplomas, certificates, and special prizes to the 36 graduates of the class of 2024.
