Pianist Yu Xi Wang made her Carnegie Hall recital debut in 2002 as the winner of Artist International. Since then, she released a CD under the Chinese label JSCP, and maintains an active performing career both as a soloist and chamber musician throughout North America and Asia. 

Dr. Wang received her B.M., M.M., and D.M.A from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Jerome Lowenthal and Julian Martin.  She also attended the Juilliard Pre-College Division under the tutelage of Herbert Stessin.  Prior to moving to the United States, she was a student at the Central Conservatory of Music studying with Hui-Su Chen.

As an in-demand pedagogue, Dr. Wang has taught piano, chamber music, solfège, music theory, and keyboard harmony at The Juilliard School, Music Institute of Chicago, Settlement Music School, and Saint Joseph’s University.  She has also given masterclasses, workshops, and lectures at regional schools, colleges, and the local MTNA chapter. Aside from her appointment at the Curtis Institute of Music, she is a piano instructor at the University of Pennsylvania and serves as the Piano Program Director at the Philadelphia International Music Festival, where she teaches each summer.

Dr. Wang has been a member of the Curtis faculty since 2013.
