José Serebrier

Composition

José Serebrier, an internationally renowned conductor and composer, gained recognition in the 1950s. His recent work, Symphony No. 3: Symphonie Mystique, was released in 2008, and he is the most frequently-recorded conductor of his generation with over 250 titles. Born in Montevideo to Russian-Polish parents, Serebrier began studying violin at age nine and made his conducting debut at eleven. He won numerous prestigious awards early in his career, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Koussevitzky Foundation Award. Serebrier has composed over 100 works and conducted many major orchestras worldwide. His accolades include Grammy nominations and various music awards.
