Representing multiple generations and distinct stylistic paths, Curtis composition faculty member Steven Mackey and Curtis alumna Jiji (Guitar ’15), faculty member at Indiana University’s Jacob’s School of Music, are coming together for Aluminum Flowers, a new concerto for electric guitar commissioned by Curtis, to be premiered on Saturday, March 9, 2024, with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra.
