Curtis Symphony Orchestra "Perry, Schumann, and Mahler" (Photo Roundup)

Relive the Curtis Symphony Orchestra's April 15 performance in photos.

On Saturday, April 15, the Curtis Symphony Orchestra closed the 2022–23 season in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Cultural Center, with “Perry, Schumann, and Mahler,” part of the Curtis Institute of Music’s Spring Gala 2023. GRAMMY Award-winning conductor Osmo Vänskä and first-year student Micah Gleason, Curtis’s Rita E. Hauser Conducting Fellow, led the Curtis Symphony Orchestra in an afternoon of stirring performances, featuring Julia Perry’s dynamic Study for Orchestra, Robert Schumann’s popular Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54, performed by acclaimed pianist Amy Yang (’06), associate dean of piano studies and artistic initiatives at Curtis, and Gustav Mahler’s thunderous Symphony No. 1 in D major (“Titan”).
