Lang Lang (Piano ’02) Stars in Opening Ceremony of Milano Cortina Winter Olympics

The internationally-celebrated musician helped kick off the winter games along with Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli.

On February 6, piano virtuoso and alumn Lang Lang starred in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, helping kick off the Milano Cortina 2026 Games.

The program, which also featured high-profile artists including Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli, centered on harmony—a key part of Lang Lang’s own performances.

The accolade builds on his rich history of collaborations with both traditional and contemporary recording artists, including:

  • Pharrell Williams
  • Coldplay
  • Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and
  • China National Symphony Orchestra.
