Joel Link (’11, ’14) Named Cleveland Orchestra Concertmaster

Link will continue as first violinist of the Dover Quartet

Joel Link (Violin ’11, String Quartet ’14) has been named the new concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra, beginning July 3.

Mr. Link will continue in his role as the Dover Quartet’s first violinist following his appointment as Cleveland Orchestra’s concertmaster, maintaining his active position in the internationally renowned string quartet, Curtis’ Penelope P. Watkins Ensemble in Residence.

Formed at Curtis and named after Samuel Barber’s famous Dover Beach, the Dover Quartet joined the Curtis faculty in 2020 and includes Bryan Lee (Violin ’11, String Quartet ’14), violist Julianne Lee (Violin ’05), and Camden Shaw (Cello ’10 and ’11, String Quartet ’14).
