Weren’t able to join us for Curtis Opera Theatre’s first production of its 2025–26 series? Get an inside look into its L’Orfeo performances at Philadelphia Film Center’s Mainstage Theater with this special photo recap.

Conceived by acclaimed director, educator, and playwright John Matsumoto Giampietro, Curtis’ production featured a stellar cast of rising young opera stars, including:

  • Harun Ellis Tekin  as Orfeo
  • Juliet Renée Rand  as Euridice
  • Sebastian Wittmoser Herrera  as Plutone
  • Jennifer Robinson  as Proserpina
  • Maisy Parker as Speranza
  • Landry Allen as Apollo
  • Maya Mor-Mitrani as La Musica/Eco
  • Edward Smith  as Caronte, and
  • Carlyle Quinn as Messaggera

It also featured a chorus of Curtis Opera Theatre young artists, joined by members of Curtis Symphony Orchestra, all under the baton of David Stern, founder of the Paris-based ensemble Opera Fuoco and music director of Palm Beach Opera.
