Summer Organ Intensive

Training the world’s next generation of organists

The Curtis Summer Organ Intensive for High School students resumes June 14–June 20, 2026, in celebration of our new concert instrument built by the Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, Opus 100. The program is designed to give the exceptional organ student a variety of opportunities to broaden and strengthen their skills.

Program Highlights

The seven-day camp provides daily lessons in repertoire, improvisation, harpsichord, and conducting with Curtis faculty members including Alan Morrison (’91), Matthew Glandorf (’91), and Julia Zavadsky.

  • Excursions include a trip to Longwood Gardens and organ tours of famous local instruments including the Kimmel Center’s Marian Anderson Hall (Dobson’s Opus 76), Girard College Chapel (E.M. Skinner’s Opus 872), and other instruments by Fisk, Aeolian-Skinner, and Möller.
  • A formal recital is held in Field Concert Hall at Curtis Institute of Music on the final day, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
  • Accepted students attend at no cost—tuition, travel, housing, and meals are fully included.

Audition Requirements

Six students will be selected based on competitive auditions. Tuition, travel, housing, and meals are included.

  • Eligibility

    This program is limited to students currently enrolled in secondary school or high school programs.

  • Letter of Recommendation

    One letter of recommendation from a private instructor.

  • Video Submission

    Video submissions should consist of two contrasting pieces.

    • Each piece should be unedited–fixed camera recorded in one take.
    • Recordings should be no more than one year old.
    • Each piece can be submitted separately or in one video.
