The internationally acclaimed Rosamunde String Quartet joins a gifted quartet of Curtis students for a memorable night of chamber music. This remarkable ensemble features young stars from three of the world’s greatest orchestras: Noah Bendix-Balgley, first concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic; Shanshan Yao (Violin ’08), concert violinist and former member of the Pittsburgh Symphony and New York Philharmonic; Teng Li (Viola ’05), principal violist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; and Nathan Vickery (Cello ’13), cellist in the New York Philharmonic.

This phenomenal “Dream Quartet,” continues to excite audiences with their distinctive sound and unanimity of expression.

About the Performers

Tianyou Ma, from Shenzhen, China, a student of Shmuel Ashkenasi and Pamela Frank, is the Dorothy Richard Starling Foundation Fellow and entered Curtis in 2019.

Maya Anjali Buchanan, from Rapid City, S.D., a student of Ida Kavafian, is the Jill and Sheldon Bonovitz Fellow and entered Curtis in 2018.

Jack Kessler, from Miami, Fla., a student of Roberto Díaz and Edward Gazouleas, is the Anthony B. Creamer III Fellow and entered Curtis in 2019.

Ania Lewis, from Cleveland, a student of Gary Hoffman and Peter Wiley, is the Friends Board Fellow and entered Curtis in 2021.
