Music for Food Benefit Concert

Brahms, Montgomery, and Kurtág

This charitable performance is presented free of charge in partnership with Music for Food to benefit Sunday Love Project. A minimum suggested donation of $35 is appreciated ($10 for students). Donations can be made online or at the door.

This concert presents quintets of Jessie Montgomery and Johannes Brahms alongside selections from György Kurtág’s expressive Signs, Games, and Messages for Solo Viola performed by eight students of the Curtis viola department.

The program aims to unify community around the quintessential fight against food scarcity in collaboration with renowned violist Kim Kashkashian, alumna Rachel Ku, and Director of Chamber Music and Piano Studies Amy Yang.

Music For Food

This performance supports Music for Food, a musician-led initiative to fight hunger in our local communities. 1 in 7 people in the United States struggles with food insecurity. To date, Music for Food’s concerts have raised over 1 million dollars creating more than 3 million meals.
