Graduation recitals display the skill and passion of Curtis Institute of Music students on the cusp of professional musicianship. Members of the current class will share the breadth of their talent through a culminating graduation recital. Admission requires advance registration and is complimentary.

Curtis will livestream Friday recitals on Facebook and YouTube at 8 p.m. during the season.

Artists

  • Gawon Kim, from Seoul, first entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2017 and received a Bachelor of Music in 2022. She is now pursuing a Master of Music, studying violin with Shmuel Ashkenasi. All students at Curtis receive merit-based, full-tuition scholarships, and Ms. Kim is the Efrem Zimbalist Fellow.

    Ms. Kim has performed with the Bucheon City, Gangnam, and Camerata orchestras, among others. She received first prize in the Mary Smart International Music Competition at the Summit Music Festival, as well as the Korea Herald, Gangnam Symphony Orchestra, and Seoul Youth Chamber Music competitions.

    Ms. Kim has participated in master classes with Aaron Rosand, Nam Yun Kim, Mihaela Martin, and Koichiro Harada. She began violin lessons at age seven and previously studied with Hyuna Kim of Yonsei University.

About the Performers
