The Event Specialist role is responsible for onsite operations for Curtis Patron Services at Curtis Institute of Music performances in Philadelphia during the school year. Areas of focus include ticket scanning, patron support and communication, and logistics. Working closely with and taking direction from the Associate Director of Patron Experience, this position will help elevate the patron experience during performances in the Curtis Recital Series and at all major Curtis performance events in Philadelphia.
This role will coordinate patron check-in, information collection, and ticket scanning during recitals to ensure a smooth event experience for both patrons and the performers. Additionally, this role will work in tandem with the Production Team and Security to coordinate logistics in real time for each event. Once the performance begins, administrative duties either related to the current event or upcoming events will be completed. This includes monitoring Friday night recital livestreams on YouTube and Facebook, reconciling attendance with the guest list, and other administrative tasks as assigned. This position will have interactions with all patrons of Curtis including major donors, board members, subscribers, students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and other community members and will be expected to treat each patron as a valued and respected guest.

Essential Functions
Key Responsibilities:
- Box office ticketing, scanning, reconciling, and reporting.
- Greet all performance guests and elevate the patron experience via in-person interactions.
- Set-up of ticketing table, signage, and supplemental materials.
- Maintain patron communications via ticketing phone line and email that pertain to the immediate performance in progress.
- Monitor recital livestreams and broadcasts on YouTube and Facebook.
- Communicate effectively with the Production Team, Security team, and all performance attendees including but not limited to students, faculty, staff, board members, major donors, subscribers, and other community members.
- Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

- Schedule flexibility to work nights and weekends for performances is required. Most of our performances take place on weekday evenings.
- Previous experience with an entertainment, attraction, or performing arts organization is highly preferred.
- A passion for and working knowledge of classical music is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional patron service and retention abilities.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Position is located on the Curtis Institute of Music campus in Philadelphia and an in-person work schedule is required.
- Schedule flexibility is required to work a mix of set weekly hours and additional hours as needed based on the performance schedule. Position is part-time and limited to no more than 29.5 hours of work per week on average.
- Night and/or weekend work will be required for performances and events.
- Exertional requirements are routine office environment.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer at the time of hire.

- $17.00 per hour, gross
