Founder's Day of Giving
Recognizing Mary Louise Curtis Bok
On October 13, Curtis celebrates Founder’s Day—an annual tradition that brings our community together in recognition of our visionary founder, Mary Louise Curtis Bok, and in support of the next generation of great artists.
This year, in honor of the 150th anniversary of Mary’s birth, we mark the occasion with the release of her first published biography, A Practical Philanthropist. Written by Curtis’ senior archivist, Barbara Benedett, the book reveals never-before-published details of this remarkable woman, taking readers on a fascinating journey through this important period in the histories of Philadelphia, Curtis, and classical music.
Join us this Founder’s Day for a unique celebration, featuring an author’s talk, musical performance, book signing, and reception.
