Soyoung Cho Appointed Associate Principal Viola of Los Angeles Philharmonic
Congratulations to Soyoung Cho (Viola ’22) on joining Los Angeles Philharmonic as its new associate principal viola. The alum recently completed a successful trial with the orchestra and was offered the position upon its vacancy.

About Soyoung Cho
Originally from Seoul, Soyoung has won prizes at the Johansen International String Competition and Osaka International Music Competition, and has appeared in the Primrose International Viola Competition. At Curtis, she studied with Roberto Díaz, Hsin-Yun Huang, Edward Gazouleas, and Misha Amory, and served as principal viola of Curtis Symphony Orchestra. A semifinalist in the 2022 Young Concert Artists auditions, she has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician.
