Juan Luis Prieto R

Juan Luis Prieto R. is president and chief executive officer of Grupo Alfil, a Mexico City-based group with operations in mining, real estate, and services. Since 2010, he has been responsible for the overall strategy, operations, and management of the group.

He led the planning, development, and operation of major real estate projects and managed multidisciplinary teams across design, construction, and administration. Earlier in his career, he held roles in financial planning and risk management.

Mr. Prieto holds an M.B.A. from HEC Paris, a B.A. in Economics from ITAM, and has completed executive education at IPADE Business School and Harvard Business School, where he recently attended the Preparing to be a Corporate Director program. He is trilingual in Spanish, English, and French.

He has served on the boards of several civic and cultural institutions in Mexico, reflecting a long-standing commitment to social impact and institutional development.

Outside of his professional activities, Mr. Prieto has a strong passion for music and was awarded first prize at Mexico’s National Violin Competition in 1991. He is also an avid long-distance runner and has completed several marathons.
