Pedagogue, stage director, and administrator Dorothy Shrader has won accolades for her innovative capability to marry the artistic to the practical in her various leadership roles. Dorothy has provided her thoughtful leadership to the Curtis Institute of Music, Opus 3 Artists, Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, and The Metropolitan Opera, among others. Dorothy has served on the faculty of the Career Studies department at Curtis since the fall of 2021, and has previously served as visiting professor at Westminster Choir College and the University of Notre Dame. She serves on the board for the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and is an active member of the Performer Development Network through Opera America. Dorothy holds degrees in vocal performance and pedagogy from Westminster Choir College.
