Melissa Reardon (Viola '00) Joins the Borromeo Quartet

The acclaimed ensemble welcomes the Grammy-nominated violist and Curtis alumna as its newest member

Curtis alumna Melissa Reardon (Viola ’00) has joined the Borromeo Quartet. The Grammy-nominated violist was appointed to the award-winning ensemble following the departure of Mai Motobuchi. She joins violinists Nicholas Kitchen and Kristopher Tong and cellist Yeesun Kim as the quartet signs with Dinin Arts Management and Consulting.

Melissa Reardon has enjoyed a successful international solo and chamber career since she earned her degrees from Curtis and New England Conservatory. She currently serves as the Artistic Director of the Portland Chamber Music Festival and is an Artist in Residence at Bard College and Conservatory. Melissa is also the Executive Director and a founding member of the East Coast Chamber Orchestra. She won first prize at the Washington International Competition and is the only violist in the world to receive top prizes in consecutive Holland America Music Society (HAMS) International viola competitions.
