About the Performers

Andrew Stump, from Dale City, Va., entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2018 and studies horn with Jeffrey Lang and Jennifer Montone. All students at Curtis receive merit-based, full-tuition scholarships, and Mr. Stump is the Louisa Knapp Curtis Fellow.

Mr. Stump served as principal horn of the Virginia All-State Orchestra in 2015, 2016, and 2017. He has also played with the American Youth Philharmonic and Brass of Peace. He has attended the Philadelphia International Music Festival, Music House International, and the Kendall Betts Horn Camp.

Mr. Stump began studying the violin at age five and tried many instruments before settling on the horn at age 14. His other teachers have included Sylvia Alimena, Vern Summers, and William Zsembery.

Aaron Patterson, from Philadelphia, is a student of Alan Morrison and entered Curtis in 2018.
