Elizabeth Younan and Philadelphia Orchestra Musicians Provide Catwalk Soundtrack

Composition graduate’s premiere celebrates local clothing design project, reports WHYY

Released online June 14, the Philadelphia Orchestra’s latest Our City, Your Orchestra project features a new work by Curtis alumna Elizabeth Younan (Composition ’21), pictured left, reports WHYY’s Peter Crimmins. Members of the orchestra—Curtis faculty members Jeffrey Curnow, Harold Hall Robinson, Don Liuzzi, Daniel Matsukawa (Bassoon ’92), and Jennifer Montone—performed Ava’s Groove at the Fabric Workshop in a fashion show celebrating local clothing design project Daddy Dressed Me. “I’m always so excited when we can present brand new works from composers,” said Mr. Matsukawa in his WHYY interview.
