Anthony McGill, principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic and Curtis faculty member, spoke recently with the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Peter Dobrin about his protest project. Mr. McGill posted his own rendition of “America the Beautiful” and challenged others to share responses to the death of George Floyd and ongoing systemic racism, with the hashtag #TakeTwoKnees. He discussed his project in a published article from June 1 and a live conversation hosted on Instagram.
