To help slow the spread of the coronavirus, organizations and artists around the world have had to cancel in-person performances and find creative ways to share their music. Curtis is happy to share a small sampling of the performances available this week from our alumni, peer organizations, and friends. All times shown are EDT.

  • WRTI-FM highlights Philadelphia artists, including many Curtis faculty and alumni, on-air throughout the week. Listen online.
  • Piano graduate Rieko Aizawa performs a recital with violinist Jesse Mills for the 92nd Street Y on Tuesday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m. A conversation with Fred Child follows. Watch online.
  • The Philadelphia Virtual Music Phestival hosts weekly live online recitals. The next takes place on Wednesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. with harpist Maryanne Meyer, a member of the Young Artist Summer Program facultyWatch online
  • Pianist and faculty member Jonathan Biss performs a recital on Wednesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. to benefit Artist Relief Tree. Mr. Biss also converses with the Aizuri Quartet about the musical community’s response to COVID-19. Watch online.
  • Live with Carnegie Hall presents a tribute to cello alumnus Lynn Harrell who recently passed away. Fellow cellists will present performances in his honor on Thursday, May 21 at 2 p.m. Watch online.
  • The Lake George Music Festival presents its next Quarantine Concerts on Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. with violin alumnus Jaram Kim. Watch online
  • The Philadelphia Orchestra and Yannick Nézet-Séguin share performances every Thursday at 8 p.m. Watch online.
  • On Fridays at 3 p.m., alumnus Teddy Abrams co-hosts In This Together with Daniel Gilliam on WUOL in Louisville. Listen online.
  • Opera Philadelphia’s Digital Festival O continues with Sky on Swings, recorded in 2018. The opera will be streamed online on Friday, May 22 at 8 p.m.
  • WHYY-TV’s On Stage at Curtis features a new episode on Friday, May 22 at 8:30 p.m. Watch online.
  • Alumna and Cliburn finalist Di Wu is featured in a Cliburn Watch Party on Saturday, May 23 at 3 p.m. Watch online.
  • Violinist and alumna Jennifer Koh launches an online commissioning project and performances series, "Alone Together," to support composers. New mini commissions for solo violin will be premiered via live stream every Saturday at 7 p.m. Watch online.
  • The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus, along with its resident companies, has created “The Show Must Go On”, an invitation to stay connected virtually. Explore the various offerings from Opera Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, the Kimmel Center, and more online.
  • The United States Army Field Band streams daily programming through their “We Stand Ready” initiative. View daily schedule online.
  • Alumna Elena Urioste and pianist Tom Poster release video duets periodically as part of their “self-isolation, self-entertainment” project. Watch online.
  • In addition to digital versions of their current lessons and classes, Settlement Music School is streaming free classes on its Facebook page. Settlement 101 airs on Thursdays at 6 p.m.; Settlement Kids airs Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Learn more and watch online.
