Maya Anjali Buchanan Wins Yamaha Young Performing Artist Competition

Ms. Buchanan’s win was reported in the San Francisco Chronicle, among several other publications.

In February violin student Maya Anjali Buchanan was named a winner of the 2020 Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition. Her recognition as an accomplished young musician was widely reported, including a mention in the San Francisco Chronicle

Ms. Buchanan was also interviewed by her hometown paper, the Rapid City Journal, as a competitor in the upcoming Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition. She discussed what she is looking forward to most during the prestigious competition, which will also involve seven other Curtis violinists.
