Due to popularity, the Metropolitan Opera has extended its production of Porgy and Bess, the first time the company has done so in its modern history. Eric Owens (Opera ’95) plays the role of Porgy in a show that has received rave reviews and set box office records since opening in September. Mr. Owen is director of vocal studies and the Curtis Opera Theatre.

The New York Times has covered the production extensively, including this piece on the added dates.
