On May 6, 2015 more than 350 patrons gathered to celebrated Curtis’s 90th anniversary, in the process raising more than half a million dollars—$525,000 and counting—for Curtis’s mission and programs. Relive the magical night below!
Celebrated faculty members Mikael Eliasen, Ida Kavafian, Hal Robinson, and Michael Rusinek offered a unique progression of musical vignettes alongside their current and past students, including a world premiere and a collaboration of violinists unlike anything experienced before at Curtis.
Following remarks by Roberto Díaz and representatives of Veritable, and Steinway & Sons, the Curtis alumni trio Time for Three—hailed by Simon Rattle as “the future of music”—took the stage. They closed the night in a rousing set with classical guitar phenomenon Jason Vieaux and Carmen sensation Rinat Shaham (Opera ’88)—a dynamic combination of musicians giving a once-in-a-lifetime performance.
