About the Performers
Yuhsin Su, from Taipei, entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2015 and studies with Anthony McGill, principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic. All students at Curtis receive merit-based, full-tuition scholarships, and Ms. Su is the Chiona Schwarz Annual Fellow.
Ms. Su attended the Affiliated High School of National Taiwan Normal University, where she twice won the school’s concerto competition and appeared as a soloist with the school’s symphony orchestra. She has also attended the International Morningside Music Bridge in Calgary, where she won third prize in the program’s concerto competition; and has participated in a master class with Nicolas Baldeyrou.
At Curtis, Ms. Su has also studied with Ricardo Morales, principal clarinet of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Michael Rusinek, principal clarinet of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Before entering Curtis, she studied with Wei Leng Chen at the Affiliated High School of National Taiwan Normal University.
Chih-Ta Chen, from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a student of Roberto Díaz and Ed Gazouleas, and entered Curtis in 2019.
Matthew Christakos, from Toronto, is a student of Gary Hoffman and Peter Wiley, and entered Curtis in 2019.
Alexandra Cooreman, from Brussels, Belgium, is a student of Ida Kavafian and entered Curtis in 2021.
Sai Sai Ding, from Shanghai, is a student of Gary Hoffman and Peter Wiley, and entered Curtis in 2019.
Danny Yehun Jin, from Seoul, is a student of Ida Kavafian and entered Curtis in 2013.
Haram Kim, from Seoul, is a student of Shmuel Ashkenasi and Ida Kavafian, and entered Curtis in 2016.
Takumi Taguchi, from Seattle, is a student of Shmuel Ashkenasi and entered Curtis in 2018.
