About the Performers
Soyoung Cho, from Seoul, entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2017 and studies viola with Roberto Díaz and Ed Gazouleas. All students at Curtis receive merit-based, full-tuition scholarships, and Ms. Cho is the Reaumur and Mary Corrin Winston Fellow.
Ms. Cho was the second-prize winner at the 2015 Johansen International Competition for Young String Players (Viola Division). She was also the third-prize winner at the 2011 Osaka International Music Competition (Junior Strings Division), and she has won several domestic competitions in Korea. She has performed in recitals in Beijing, Calgary, Dubai, Washington, D.C., and Seoul. She has served as principal violist of the Korea National University of Arts Orchestra, and regularly plays in string quartets and other chamber ensembles.
Ms. Cho began playing the violin at age five and the viola at age eight.
Hannah Klein, from Concord, Mass., is a student of Cynthia Hoffman, adjunct faculty, and entered Curtis in 2016.
