Chamber Music (Woodwinds)
Adrian Morejon is a member of the Dorian Wind Quintet and the Talea and Radius ensembles, and is co-principal bassoon of the IRIS Orchestra. As a soloist, he has appeared throughout the U.S. and Europe with the Talea Ensemble, IRIS Orchestra, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and the Miami Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as a guest with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Boston Chamber Music Society, and Chamber Music Northwest; and has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Luke's, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, among others.
Mr. Morejon is a recipient of a Presser Foundation Grant. He was awarded second prize at the International Double Reed Society Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox International Competition and a shared top prize at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory’s International Competition for Performers on Wind and Percussion Instruments. He received his bachelor of music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music where he studied with Bernard Garfield, and his master of music degree and Artist Diploma from the Yale School of Music, where he studied with Frank Morelli.
Mr. Morejon joined the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music in 2017. He also serves on the faculties of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Longy School of Music, SUNY—Purchase Conservatory of Music, and Brooklyn College of CUNY.
