The Curtis Institute of Music educates and trains exceptionally gifted young musicians to engage a local and global community through the highest level of artistry. Curtis is seeking an organized and outgoing receptionist with a polished, professional demeanor to assist with a variety of administrative support and clerical duties at its main building at 1726 Locust Street. Duties include greeting visitors, answering and transferring phone calls, managing incoming mail and package deliveries, and clerical duties for some administrative staff. Reporting to the senior director of facilities operations, this is a full-time position. The receptionist shall provide information, operate office equipment and perform other routine administrative functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet all guests and visitors; screen and announce guests meeting with staff or faculty; assist visitors with inquiries.
  • Answer all incoming calls, provide information, and transfer to appropriate staff member if/when necessary.
  • Receive and forward messages for students, staff, and faculty; distribute forms and information to students as requested by staff/faculty.
  • Coordinate with registrar to print and oversee daily distribution of room schedules.
  • Coordinate with security staff to receive, log, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries at 1726 Locust; notify recipients; and track receipt of packages and deliveries.
  • Serve as backup for 1726 Locust security guard when he/she is not at the desk.
  • Assist the senior director of facility operations, dean, and other staff with projects, as requested and available.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Associate’s degree or a minimum of 2 years administrative office or customer service experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Office 365, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive required. Experience with multi-line VOIP system preferred.
