Ways to Give

Founder's Society

The Founder’s Society honors all who have included the Curtis Institute of Music as a beneficiary under their wills, trusts, life-insurance policies, retirement plans, and other estate-planning arrangements. Their forward-thinking commitment to Curtis is greatly appreciated and appropriately recognized. Members of the Founder's Society enjoy:

  • Recognition as a Founder's Society member in the orchestra and opera programs
  • Subscription to Curtis's magazine, Overtones
  • A copy of the Season Selections from Curtis CD

How to join the Founder's Society

To join the Founder's Society, call the development office at (215) 717-3136 and request a "Letter of Intent."  Once completed, return it to:

Curtis Institute of Music
Advancement Office
1726 Locust Street
Philadelphia PA 19103

Curtis's letter of intent is non-binding, meaning that it is not a contractual agreement, but instead a statement of your intentions.

Although not required, the school requests that donors send a copy of the provisions made for Curtis in their will or trust and a description of the gift to Curtis. If provided, this information will be kept in the strictest confidence. If desired, donors can be listed as Anonymous members of the Founder's Society.

To learn more about the Founder's Society, Charles Sterne III, director of principal gifts and planned giving, can be reached at (215) 717-3126.
