Give Back to Curtis

Regardless of where you are in life -- if you are a soloist traveling the world, a marketing professional who occasionally picks up your instrument to play a Bach piece or a private studio teacher with 30 students a week -- your innate talent was honed by your experience at Curtis. It is imperative to keep classical music and opera alive for your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends to enjoy. The music is a part of you and necessary in the world; the legacy needs to live on through the students of The Curtis Institute of Music. Whether you can give $10 or $10,000, all gifts are extremely valuable to maintain Curtis's unique merit-based full-tuition scholarship policy.

The Alumni Annual Fund appeal is part of the Curtis Annual Fund and supports Curtis's educational and financial assistance programs. You are invited to make your annual gift in honor or memory of a former classmate or teacher, or to designate it to a particular program.

Renowned Pianist
Leon McCawley
in Recital At Curtis March 16

Pianist Leon McCawley celebrates two milestone anniversaries, Samuel Barber's centenary and Chopin's bicentenary, with a free recital at the Curtis Institute of Music on Tuesday, March 16 at 8 p.m. The performance is free and no tickets are required.

His program traces Chopin's distinct influence on Barber's piano writing, while highlighting both composers' keen interest in the musical styles and idioms of their homelands and their respect for classical forms and structures.
