CURTIS STORE
The school store, which is managed by the Alumni and Parent Relations Office and operated by student workers, sells Curtis memorabilia, such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, bumper stickers, and umbrellas. It is located by the coatroom on the ground floor of the Main Building. The store is generally open during Wednesday Tea, on Friday nights before recitals, and during intermission of Field Concert Hall performances. It is also open during special times, such as Orientation Week, Family Weekend, and around orchestra and opera performances to cater to parents. For exact times check the hours posted.

ID CARDS
You will receive a photo ID from the director of student services when you first register at Curtis. You must carry your ID card with you at all times when you are in Curtis buildings, and you must present it when asked by any member of the administrative staff or by one of the school's security guards. If you lose your card, please see the director of student services. There is a $5 replacement fee for lost cards.

LOCKERS
While at Curtis, you may use one of two kinds of lockers for your supplies:

Instrument lockers. If you play an orchestral instrument, you will be issued a locker in the basement of the Main Building for your instrument and books. See the orchestra manager on the fourth floor of the Milton L. Rock Resource Center for a locker assignment and a combination lock.

Coat lockers. Non-orchestral majors can reserve a book-and-coat locker located in the basement hallway of the Main Building. Please get your assignment and lock combination from the orchestra manager.

TAXI REIMBURSEMENT
Your safety is of great concern to Curtis. If you are required to be at Curtis after dark and are uncomfortable about walking to your apartment or need to go to the University of Pennsylvania's Student Health Service, the Institute will reimburse you for your cab fare. Simply get a dated receipt showing the fare, tip, and destination, and submit it to the director of student services. Reimbursement checks will be issued twice a month.

INTERNET AND E-MAIL
All students are automatically signed up for Internet and e-mail access through Curtis at a cost of $85 per year, payable at registration. Internet-connected computers are available on the third floor of the Milton L. Rock Resource Center and in the Student Lounge in the Main Building.

ALUMNI AND PARENT RELATIONS OFFICE
The alumni and parent relations office encourages interaction among alumni, students, parents, and Curtis. If you are traveling out of town for an audition or performance and need a place to stay, ask the office about its host program. The office also maintains alumni records, produces the Alumni Recital Series, sponsors alumni gatherings outside Philadelphia, and publishes the Alumni Directory in print and online.

Overtones--a magazine of Curtis features, news, and notes, including "Alumni Notations"--is sent two times a year to alumni and current parents, among others.

The office coordinates the Alumni Council, which represents all Curtis alumni. The council's mission is to strengthen ties among alumni worldwide and between alumni and Curtis.

The office also coordinates the Parents Committee, which helps provide a stronger connection among parents with the school through parent outreach and orientation, Family Weekend, social events around performances, and support of the Annual Fund.

All students who have attended Curtis for at least two semesters and have left in good standing are considered alumni. The alumni and parent relations office is housed with the development department on the sixth floor of 1701 Walnut, and students, parents, and alumni are welcome to visit at any time.

FRIENDS OF THE CURTIS INSTITUTE OF MUSIC
Nearly fifty individuals serve on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Curtis, an enthusiastic volunteer group that donates time, talent, and financial resources to support Curtis. An easy way for them to become involved with Curtis is through the Host program, introducing Curtis students to the many resources (cultural, historic, athletic, etc.) of the Delaware Valley, participating in the lives of young artists by attending their recitals and concerts, and getting to know Curtis from a more intimate perspective. If you are interested in having a host, please contact Kristina Leidy at 215-717-3169.
