A brass quintet from The Curtis Institute of Music helped to inaugurate
Philadelphia's newly constructed Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts by
giving the first-ever public performance in the Perelman Theater on December
16, 2001. The 650-seat recital hall was filled to standing-room-only capacity
for the hour-long program of works that spanned from a Bach chorale transcription
to Dixieland jazz. |
