Crescendo Club Steering Committee
Curtis is where legends begin. This has been true since the school’s founding in 1924. In 2009 the Curtis Crescendo Club was launched to energize the school’s fan base and grow support among a younger generation of classical music lovers in Philadelphia.
The Crescendo Club now has an active list of nearly 400 associates, who participate in a wide variety of activities each season including attending student orchestra, opera, and chamber music performances. Participants also support Curtis’s signature fundraising events and host pre- and postconcert gatherings.
Each event offers an educational component, allowing participants to explore “behind the scenes” of the music. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Curtis as a school—a cultural treasure for not only Philadelphia but also the world. Most events are free, but some are available only to full Crescendo Club members.
Membership
The Curtis Crescendo Club is dedicated to supporting Curtis’s mission financially, as well as in the concert hall. The Steering Committee strongly encourages participants to consider deepening their support of the school by becoming a full member of the Crescendo Club.
An array of exclusive benefits are available to Crescendo Club members with a gift of at least $75 to the Curtis Annual Fund. All benefits will be applicable in the 2012-13 season.

- Appassionato Finale: Gateway to Europe at the Mann Center. May 11 at 6 p.m. The day before embarking on their first European tour in over ten years, the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, led by Curtis alumnus Rossen Milanov, revels in a program of Bernstein and Brahms in a concert offered as a free gift to the city of Philadelphia.
