Gateway to Europe: Appassionato Season Finale at the Mann
On May 11, 2012, the Curtis Symphony Orchestra performed double duty. Its concert at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts both previewed the orchestra's residency at the prestigious Dresden Music Festival in Germany and officially opened the Mann's summer season to a crowd of over 4,300 fans.
As part of the festivities, Curtis also celebrated the finale of the 2011-12 Appassionato season with the Party in the Park Gala. During the day, an audience of local students and seniors got a chance to see how a professional orchestra rehearses, with a sneak peak of the evening's program. Explore all the day's events below and follow the CSO's adventures in Europe at Postcards from Curtis.
