During her lifetime Curtis’s founder, Mary Louise Curtis Bok, took personal responsibility for the Curtis Institute of Music and its policy of providing every student with a merit-based full-tuition scholarship. Today Curtis continues to maintain its full-tuition scholarship policy thanks to the generosity and vision of Mrs. Bok and of donors who give annually and strengthen the school's endowment through legacy gifts.
