Curtis Crescendo Club
Young Professionals Supporting Young Musicians
ABOUT THE CRESCENDO CLUB
The Crescendo Club gathers Philadelphia's young professionals to celebrate the world's finest young musicians at the Curtis Institute of Music, where all students attend tuition-free.
"In partnership with some of Philadelphia's finest culinary and arts institutions, we host a series of free events each season to showcase the unparalleled talent of Curtis's prodigious young students, most of whom go on to perform at the highest professional level on the grandest stages across the globe. Where else in the world can you go to observe the next Lang Lang or Leonard Bernstein, while still in the process of developing his or her musical voice? Curtis provides full-tuition scholarships to all of its students so you can be certain all of the funds raised through your Crescendo Club membership are used to help fund the world's finest musical education for these exceptional young students."
--Marija Ugrinich and Dean Vetsikas, co-chairs of the Crescendo Club Steering Committee
The Curtis Crescendo Club comprises members of the Friends of Curtis, age 40 and under, who enjoy special networking events and other benefits to get more involved at Curtis and in classical music in Philadelphia. They support Curtis's full-tuition scholarships for all students with their Friends of Curtis membership gifts of $75 or more, and enjoy fantastic benefits for one year after making their membership gifts, including:
:: Invitations to special networking events exclusively for the Crescendo Club
:: Invitation to Curtis's annual open house, a chance to see Curtis students "behind the scenes" in rehearsals and coachings
:: Discounted tickets to Curtis orchestra and opera performances
:: A subscription to Overtones, Curtis's semi-annual magazine
:: Listing in the Crescendo Club section of Curtis orchestra and opera program books
:: And more, depending on the level of your gift
Crescendo Club membership proceeds are recognized with the Crescendo Club Annual Fellowship, held this year by viola student Zsche Chuang Rimbo Wong.
