Student Services
At Curtis trained professionals oversee student services including financial aid, coordination of housing opportunities, new student orientation, psychological and medical services, international student support, career planning, and precollege program monitoring, as well as programs to enhance students’ everyday experience.
Lenfest Hall will certainly transform student life, as Curtis offers housing and dining services for the first time. As the school prepares to assume these new responsibilities, it must continue to ensure student services of the highest caliber to complement the preeminent music training and education for which Curtis is known, while preserving the rich traditions essential to the Curtis experience in a modern, state-of-the-art facility.
Among the strategic steps Curtis took in FY 2011 to enhance its services to students:
- created a residence life guide and established a student advisory group to assist with planning for the opening of Lenfest Hall
- appointed an assistant dean of residence life and five resident assistants from the student body to oversee residence life
- collaborated with a Philadelphia fitness center to provide more than 50 students with personally tailored fitness programs
- Created an emergency response team
