2008-13 Strategic Plan
In 2013 the Curtis Institute of Music completed a bold five-year strategic plan. Launched in 2008 and inspired by Curtis’s mission to educate and train exceptionally gifted young musicians for careers as performing artists on the highest professional level, the plan supported a bold vision to be the finest music conservatory in the world—the first choice for students who aspire to performance careers.
The Strategic Plan focused on areas critical to success in attaining the vision. Ambitious multiyear goals in each area were supported by strategic steps toward their achievement, expressed as annual strategic goals. A flexible financial projection ensured the school’s financial stability and the excellence of Curtis’s educational program as the plan progressed. Implementation began with the 2008–09 school year and continued through the 2012–13 school year.
The plan’s completion represents an unprecedented period of innovation at Curtis, supported by nearly $158.5 million raised from the generous community of Curtis donors.
Details of the accomplishments of the strategic plan are in the 2008–13 Strategic Plan Report, below. Also below are Annual Reports for each year of the strategic plan.
