For 2014-15: All incoming, unmarried students who were born on or after September 1, 1992, through August 31, 1998, are required to live in Lenfest Hall, on-campus, during their first two years.
Students younger than sixteen as of September 1 are required to have a parent or adult guardian living with them off campus for the entire academic year.
Lenfest Hall, located at 1616 Locust Street, offers suite-style living with well thought-out design and amenities in line with what students expect in contemporary campus housing.
Each unit can serve four to six students and features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a small common area. Kitchenette and a free laundry room are provided on the fifth floor.
The building also features a convenient dining hall, offices, mailboxes, the magnificent Gould Rehearsal Hall, thirty-two additional studios for lessons, individual practice, classes, and rehearsals, and a fifth-floor garden terrace. The building has twenty-four-hour security attendants and security cameras. Residents of Lenfest Hall have twenty-four-hour access to all practice rooms within the building.
For students who are not required to live in Lenfest Hall, upon request Curtis will provide students with materials to assist in their search for suitable housing. Be sure to view the Housing Possibility List (coming soon). This will provide you with helpful information, including apartment listings and phone numbers for managers and landlords. Because of the serious time commitment required of Curtis students and for your safety, Curtis advises you to live within a five-block radius of the Institute.
