Curtis Chamber Music Series Returns to Saint Mark’s Church April 18
Curtis students give free lunchtime concerts April 18 through April 28
PHILADELPHIA, PA—April 15, 2016— This spring at Curtis, chamber music overflows beyond the usual venues and into the magnificent sanctuary of neighboring Saint Mark’s Church (1625 Locust Street), with free lunchtime concerts in April. Between April 18 and 28, hour-long student recitals take place on select weekdays at 12:45 p.m.
This annual chamber music series offers mid-day music breaks for Philadelphians. Patrons are invited to bask in the glorious architecture and acoustics of Saint Mark’s as Curtis musicians share their extraordinary talents. Programs will feature works for strings, winds, brass, voice, piano, and organ ranging from time-honored masterworks to the music of today.
These performances are an expansion of Curtis’s famed Student Recital Series, which presents over 100 free concerts annually to the Philadelphia community and continues its celebrated legacy as the pre-eminent concert stage for emerging musical leaders.
