Curtis Musicians Perform at the Mann Center on June 15
Curtis students and alumni join the Philadelphia Orchestra to kick off the summer season at the Mann Center on Tuesday, June 15 at 8 p.m. Rossen Milanov conducts Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
Since winning the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009, twenty-year-old pianist Haochen Zhang has performed around the world. He returns to Philadelphia to perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Four Curtis-trained singers are the soloists in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, with its famous “Ode to Joy”—Heidi Melton, Katherine Lerner, Kevin Ray, and Jonathan Beyer perform alongside the Philadelphia Singers Chorale.
