Yuja Wang, piano ('08)
Yuja Wang is recognized worldwide for playing that combines the spontaneity and fearless imagination of youth with the discipline and precision of a mature artist. Regularly lauded for her controlled, prodigious technique, she has been praised for her authority over the most complex technical demands of the repertoire, the depth of her musical insight, her fresh interpretations, and her graceful, charismatic stage presence. She has performed with most of America's leading orchestras, as well as ensembles worldwide. Ms. Wang records exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon.

Curtis On Tour

Each season Curtis On Tour brings the extraordinary artistry of the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music to audiences nationwide, with tomorrow's leading musicians performing alongside celebrated alumni and faculty. The 2010–11 tour features Curtis piano faculty member Ignat Solzhenitsyn (Piano and Conducting '95) joined by Curtis students in a commissioned piece by Daron Hagen ('84). Other offerings include works by Brahms and Kurtág and one of Mozart's beloved chamber compositions, the "Kegelstatt" Trio.

A clever young fox—the cunning little vixen—journeys through forest and town, through love and rebellion. This delightful work, which Janáček based on a captivating series of comic strips, is brought to life by the fresh young voices of the Curtis Opera Theatre.
Fully staged production with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, sung in Czech with English supertitles.
